Jas Mangat wins UMC Rally
Jas Mangat cruised his Subaru Impreza N12 to his first victory of the year beating a strong field in the United Motor Club (UMC) T1 Club rally in Mukono.
The Africa Rally Championship (ARC) regular clocked one hour, 13 minutes and 27 seconds after racing for 296.59km over two days. “I knew from the Lubiri event that he (Mangat) was going to push hard but our time was good but not enough to beat his.
Ssebuguzi, the reigning national champion, was the overnight leader after day one, came to the flying finish 10 seconds late. He had an 11-second lead over Mangat but failed to hang onto it. Nasser Mutebi finished third, four minutes and 14 seconds off the pace whereas female ace Susan Muwonge (Subaru N10) was fourth.
