Ponsiano Lwakataka has been rocking the roll-cage since 2000 and has gone ahead to win numerous accolades along the way. He sat in his first rally car, a Toyota Levin during the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally in September 2000, emerging 17th overall out of the 39 cars that started the event.

He was the 5th local driver in that event, having competed against accomplished drivers from all over Africa and Uganda with even stronger rally cars such as Subaru Imprezas and Mitsubishi Evotions.He has since won National Championships, USPA monthly Award, April 2005 and a lot of fans have come along. Born on 11th November 1973, in the southern district of Rakai, Ponsiano Lwakataka got interesting motor sport in the 1990’s and joined main-steam motor rallying as a motocross rider.

He however got an accident during a motorcycle championship in 1999, breaking his limbs which kept him off the track for some months. Getting the 17th position motivated him to compete in the next season (2001) National Rally Championship, a trend he continued with in the subsequent seasons
