The event, starting in Lubiri with a super Special stage, has 223km competitive sections divided into six sub-sections.

Meanwhile, local competitors have been spared the cost of purchasing HANS devices.
As a safety measure, it is recommended that competitors wear Head and Neck Support (HANS) devices which cost at least $1200 (sh2.4m) per crew but world Motorsport governing body, FIA has waived the requirement in Africa this year.
For now, it is only those crews registered to score Africa championship points that must wear HANS devices,”MU vice president Kisitu Mayanja stated.
The period of grace is only one season, next year all competitors in Africa championship events will be required to wear the devices for their own safety.”

This year's Pearl Rally, which also acts as the third round of the African Rally Championship (ARC) series, flags off with super special stage at Lubiri double circuit track before heading into competitive sections covering parts of Luweero district.
But in case of extreme circumstances, I have designed an alternative route so there shouldn’t be any such worries,” he assured.
Organizers of the KCB Safari Rally in Kenya were forced to cancel out the Super Special Stage after the venue (Jamhuri Park) got flooded following a heavy downpour in Nairobi
Top foreign drivers are expected from Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Rwanda and Burundi.
The rally route will be open to local drivers for reccing on April 23. Byaruhanga has said the media will go along the local drivers into the route on the same day. We want the media to see what drivers and organizers go through during the rally so that they can help us in educating our fans based on the experience,” Byaruhanga.
Local motorsport body, FMU, has put particular emphasis on safety following ugly incidents in the past resulting either from failure to control fans or drivers ignoring some precautions.
