Mr. Kagimu, popularly known as Uncle George in motorsport has been an active administrator and rally driver in Uganda since 1994. He was one of the founder members of the FMU and was also the Vice President of UMOSPOC at its inception.

He competed in many rally rallies from 1994 to 2000, the year he left Uganda for an expatriate job in the TOTAL Group. He was the 4th ranked driver in the rally calendar 2000. He won the UMMA sprint at Kazi in 2000.

Mr. Kagimu was instrumental in getting TOTAL Uganda to sponsor motorsport, and TOTAL became one the title sponsor for Pearl of Africa Uganda rally for many years and also the major sponsor of Charlie Lubega, Uganda Champion for many years.

Mr. Kagimu’s main objective for the Federation are to professionalize the sports that respects and observe rules and regulations, transparency and sound accountability and that takes safety of all associated with the sport as number one.
His wish is to see more and reliable sponsorship towards organizing and competitors’ costs.
